Occasionally large areas of space are needed with the option to extend even beyond that. In this project, to reorganize the flow of material throughout the building (at it’s increased size) efficiently was the focus. During the course of the project the design was developed and maintained to maximize this flow on several fronts, including stormwater management techniques, construction footprint and even structural materials. The result is a highly effective solution both for the flow of materials as well as the physical operation and durability of the new space. Environmental and energy impacts were reduced through materials selection, insulation and natural light provisions and site considerations all the while allowing for anticipated future growth.
